Welcome to our fifth development blog for Schism! The fantasy narrative game where you play as a double agent caught between a break-off religious sect and an inquisition within a world of unicorn deer!  You can wishlist our game on Steam


In this month's blog, we cover our resounding success at Awesomecon, polishing the first act, and plenty of new content coming in the future! Let’s get right into it!


Awesomecon was a huge success!



We were at Awesomecon from the 13th to the 15th. Players took their first steps as Doliturne, the double agent you play as. They navigated between the break-off religious sect known as The Church of the Thousand Eyes and The Inquisition known as The Order of Antlers. 


Over two days, we ran 150+ playtests of our game and received 61 wishlists, resulting in a 40% wishlist conversion rate, well above the expected 10%! Thank you to everyone who swung by our booth, played the game, and gave your feedback!



For about a year, we’ve been honing the gameplay of solving puzzles using your psionics/magic, along with crafting a deep world filled with history and unique animalistic characters that you can dive right into! It was exhilarating seeing that everything we have been developing was beloved by players.  


We loved talking with you about the game's inspiration, hearing your feedback, and seeing players play our game! Various conversations ranged from making our game more dyslexia-friendly to discussing the world and the intersection of narrative and gameplay! We’ll be following up on all of this in a special blog post we’ll post in April about accessibility and what we learned from Awesomecon.

Big news coming for Schism


Speaking of the future, let’s talk about the next steps ahead for Schism. First, we’ve got some big news next month, we won’t tell what exactly, but we just have some bigger news for you. 


The current version of our Report Writing interface! We added the "Insights Needed" section from feedback we received at Awesocomecon!

Act One is currently content locked, and we’re deep in the polishing pass using feedback we received and perceived at Awesomecon! We’ve also begun developing the story and narrative for Act Two. 


New Content and Blogs Delving Into Cervinae!


You all want to know more about Schism and what we are building! So we’re creating a new series named “The Making Of,” which goes into the behind-the-scenes of creating our game, including the challenges, insights, and what to expect within our game!



Our first edition is going to be about the world of Cervinae and how it is a massive world with many vying factions, where you are only a small, yet influential, part of its landscape. We will be breaking down how it relates to the actual game and our vision for it! 


With the overwhelming success at Awesomecon and the total validation of our game, we are full steam ahead on Schism! It isn’t without the support of an awesome community that we have over on our Discord server, who playtest, discuss the lore, and share pictures of our miniatures with!
