What an opening week of an announcement for Schism! If you haven't seen it, check out our announcement post! We’re incredibly thankful for all the early support. It means a lot to us!
But with the announcement behind us, let's talk about the future and our next steps for development! Because you’ll be able to play Schism for yourself sooner than you think.
Where are we now in Development?
Overall, we’re still somewhat early and focusing on creating a polished one-level demo of our game for you to play! When will you be able to play it? We’re a team of volunteers right now, so whenever it's ready, we'll let you know. But here is what we have in the pipeline!
TL;DR
Narrative: We've plotted out the major events of Schism and decided that we can tell a story of this scale! We’ve also begun to write and polish the dialogue and narrative design of Act One (out of five).
Gameplay: The core mechanics are implemented, and we can play from start to finish! Now, we need to polish them and make them less buggy. Next up? Expanding into Visual Novel-style sequences and polishing player interaction. Check out our build here! Warning: It's pretty buggy and definitely not reflective of the final gameplay.
Art: We've completed the key art, major character art references, and now working on storyboards for the playable demo for you! Why don’t you take a look at some of the latest artwork we’ve been working on?
Music: We've completed the sound bible for the game, composed several tracks, including the main theme, and are implementing sound effects into the game.
Towards a Kickstarter

We will launch a Kickstarter campaign, but only when we know we have enough interest. Our first follower milestone is to have 200 followers. You’ll get a free demo before the campaign goes live for sure, but if you want to help us get there, give us a follow!
And if you want to get even closer to the heart of Schism, join our Discord server! We host lore nights, chat behind-the-scenes, and hang out with the community that’s forming around this strange and dangerous world of unicorn deer.
Thank you all very much for your continued support! If you want to chat with us personally, attend lore nights, and other events, feel free to join our Discord server here:
Thank you again, and until our next dev blog!
