Welcome to the second development blog for Schism! We’ve got an awesome update on our journey to craft you a unique political simulator involving a religious sect and an inquisition! So let’s get right to it!

We are pleased to announce that we will be having closed-door playtest sessions on our Discord where you can play a super early build of the game! This is the first opportunity to play a version of Schism and collaborate with us on its development! To get your hands on the playable build of the game, make sure to join our Discord:
The build will be available to play only on July 11th and 25th! We will share more details on how to access it there! We would love to have your feedback and allow you to shape a narrative-rich game! But this will be a limited opportunity, so be sure to join our Discord server!
With all of that, let’s give some updates from our previous blog and how it's reflected in the playable build:
Writing - With the entirety of the game story fleshed out, we have begun to make the branching choices allowing you to choose your own intrigue-filled story! One such example would be to reveal whether some form of communication is compromised to one of the factions. This choice is yours to make in the playable build, available exclusively to our Discord members.
Gameplay - We’ve completed the rough framework of the conversation gameplay, where your choices can influence the direction of the story! With a complete gameplay loop, we’re now iterating upon it. We’ll be taking your feedback during the playtests to make our game even better!
Artistry - We are now focusing on creating the storyboards for the game and further exploring our cinematic direction. Take a look at this sketch that was done for one of the scenes in the game (We’re not going to spoil it though)!

Just wait until they’re beautifully rendered and accompanied by music in the playable build!
Music - With our music bible complete, we are now exploring the further applications of music within our dialogue sequences and cinematics. Just another month until you get to hear how exactly we are decorating our world. Or, you could hear it by joining our Discord!
Help us further in creating Schism by following our Kickstarter and hitting our goal of 200 followers together! Once we hit 200+ followers on there, we will be launching a publicly available demo which you can play on your own time, complete with cinematics, polished levels, and more!
That’s all for this month's development blog! Thank you all very much for your continued support, and we hope to see you in our playtest! If you wish to get these development updates in your inbox, make sure to subscribe to our mailing list!
